The Global Talent Visa Program is an invitation-based program designed to attract highly talented individuals, with entrepreneurial ideas and cutting-edge skills within targeted industry sectors, who can contribute to Australia’s economy by driving innovation and supporting the creation of local jobs.

The Global Talent Visa Program provides a streamlined visa pathway for highly skilled professionals to work and live permanently in Australia.

To be invited to apply you need to be highly skilled in one of the 10 target sectors and be able to attract a salary that meets the high-income threshold. You also need a recognised Australian based organisation or individual with a national reputation in the same field to nominate you as global talent.

Whether you have an organisation that is willing to vouch for your level of expertise is a practical matter and not a legal question.

The Global Talent Visa Program is a policy based program that is managed very differently from other visa programs. While the criteria are highly discretionary the Australian Government also provides more support and information to intending applicants and potential nominators than other visa programs.

VisAustralia is particularly able to support Engineers meet the visa requirements.

If you think you meet the criteria and have an Australian organisation who is able to vouch for your level of expertise and nominate you, we invite you to contact VisAustralia to discuss your application.
