The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is recognised by over 9,000 organisations throughout the world (including universities, colleges, organisations and immigration authorities) as a measure of English language proficiency.

This course is designed for people who aim to enhance language competencies in order to achieve the highest score on the exam.

The IELTS includes four test bands:

  • Reading comprehension : speed reading strategies, understanding graphs and charts, analysing IELTS specimen papers
  • Writing : interpreting questions, organising content, grammatical accuracy
  • Listening : note-taking, listening for specific information
  • Speaking : expressing ideas and opinions, seeking clarification, pronunciation
  • The IELTS exam score system ranges from 0 to 9. The course is divided into two classes: intermediate and advanced.

    Test format

    There are two types of IELTS:

    • General IELTS : The IELTS General Training test has been developed to test your every-day, non-academic English. As a result, you can do IELTS General Training for migration to an English speaking country.
    • Academic IELTS : IELTS developed the Academic test if you wish to study at university or college as an undergraduate or postgraduate student. Or, if you want to join or gain entry into a professional institution.
  • Course Cost (Range) : $300 – $350 per week
  • Course Duration : 12 weeks
  • Course Intake : weekly

This course requires an intermediate entry level of English. If you wish to enrol, a pre-entry test is usually required followed by another test on the course start date. Schools must assess individual language skills prior to course beginning.
